Workflow Overview
High Attitude Drone Solutions provides repeatable quantity verification and earthwork tracking using an RTK-enabled aerial mapping workflow. Outputs support project controls, progress reporting, and volumetric decision-making for construction and excavation operations.
Methodology
We use two primary methods depending on the site and reporting goal:
• Stockpile Volume (Base Surface Method)
A defined base surface is established beneath the stockpile to calculate volume above the reference plane/surface.
• Cut/Fill (Surface-to-Surface Comparison)
A current surface is compared to a design or baseline surface to quantify cut volume, fill volume, and net change across the area of interest.
What You Receive
Deliverables are tailored to your project stage and may include:
• Quantity summary report (PDF)
• Cut/fill report (PDF) with tables (CSV)
• Georeferenced orthomosaic (GeoTIFF/JPG/PDF)
• Elevation surfaces and raster outputs (GeoTIFF / grid)
• Contours / CAD layers (DXF) and GIS layers (SHP/GeoPackage)
• Point cloud (LAS/LAZ) and optional 3D mesh outputs
• CAD/GIS-ready exports suitable for Autodesk Civil 3D / AutoCAD and GIS platforms
Applications
• Stockpile inventory and verification
• Ongoing earthwork progress tracking
• Excavation monitoring and reporting
• Grading change analysis for project controls
• Stakeholder updates and documentation
Accuracy & Limitations
Photogrammetry-based measurement is affected by vegetation, standing water, low texture, shadows, and access constraints. If survey-grade control is required, additional control/validation steps can be incorporated by request. Outputs are not intended to replace a legal boundary, cadastral, or professional engineering survey.
